Model Organizer - A program designed for quick access to items direct in autodesk maya.
This program is designed for quickly placing prepared models on the selected side of the kuda, vertex, or simply loading in zero coordinates if nothing was selected.
We create a folder in which we will have the saved models and their pictures.
Step 1. Create a folder for pictures and name it as we want. I call it (Img_A). Create a folder for models. I call it (SM_A).
Step 2. In the folder for pictures, create a screenshot of our model measuring 50x50 and assign the name A001_AnyName.
Step 3. Create your model, place it in zero coordinates and save it in format (.ma) and assign the first 4 characters as in your picture A001_AnyName.
Step 4. Open the file called (GO_ForloopScript.py).
Step 5. Specify the path where your folder with the model is located. First red underline (folder_paths). Specify the path where your picture with the model is located. Second red underline. (folderimg_paths).
Step 6. You can change the name of the displayed folders in the program itself by changing the name here. You can also add additional folders separated by commas and in step5 add additional paths to them.
Step 7. Run the Maya script program. You can see the icon in the picture below. It is usually located in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 8. By clicking on the plus sign you can add a window with a python. Copy the script from the file (step 4 - GO_ForloopScript.py). Paste the editor script into the bottom window. Click save script so that it appears on your quick buttons panel.
Step 9. Click on the created icon and run the script. After which you will see a window with your pictures of the models.
Create any model. Select a side, vertex, or just don't select anything and click on the item icon.
The prepared model will immediately be placed on the surface or vertex you need if one of the listed ones was selected. Or in zero coordinates if nothing was selected.
